- Make sure that the cadet meets ALL of the requirements listed on the "Membership Requirements" page.
- Attend four meetings with parent/guardian
- This is to ensure that you have a good sense of what meetings are about. We don't want you to spend the money and time on CAP if you don't have a fairly good idea of what it is that we do
- We also want your parent/guardian to know what it is that you'll be doing at meetings so that they are more comfortable and knowledgeable about meetings
- Complete your application and bring it to the next meeting
- Download, print and fill out the application in the "Recruiter's Office", "Cadet Application" area and bring it to the next meeting.
- Charter number is "TX214"
- There should be NO blanks on the application except for the DCFC's signature and the "prior service" section
- A doctor's signature is required only if you answered "yes" to any of the medical questions
- Download, print and fill out the application in the "Recruiter's Office", "Cadet Application" area and bring it to the next meeting.
- Once the application is signed, make two copies of it:
- Is for your own records and should serve as a backup in case the original is lost in the mail
- Give to your son/daughter as proof that the application was completed. It will serve as a temporary I.D.

Once the application is mailed, the cadet may attend meetings and participate on a limited basis. If you wish to go ahead and purchase uniform items, you may; however, none of the Civil Air Patrol insignia may be worn until they get their I.D. card in the mail.
